What is Botox?Botox is a neuromuscular blocking agent. In 1989 the FDA gave approval for use of botulinum toxin A to treat muscle spasms. It is still used today for neuromuscular disorders, often in children. It is also used to treat migraine headaches. In 2002 it was approved for cosmetic reasons. When injected to small muscles of facial expression will allow the wrinkles to flatten out and smooth thus making the skin appear younger. Treatments generally last 3-4 months. Regular treatments will keep your appearance look youthful and refreshed.
-
Does Botox hurt?Generally it is a brief small stick. Some areas may be a bit more sensitive but the results are worth it. Numbing agents are avoided as this may result in less effective toxin and may not last as long.
-
How much does Botox cost?We offer complimentary consultation. The cost of wrinkle treatments varies from each patient. Cost is based on the number of units. Some muscles require 1 unit others 2 or 4 units. Men generally require more units than when we treat women as they have stronger muscles. The number of units depends on the area being treated as well as how strong the targeted muscle. We are happy to do a consultation and give an estimate. You will always be informed of the recommendations prior to treatments. So no surprises. As our goal is to enhance your natural beauty, we will be conservative on you initial visit. We reassess in 2 weeks and can give additional units to achieve the desired effect.
-
How soon will I see results? Most will notice cosmetic improvement in 3-5 days. Your first treat we may be conservative as we want a natural result. At 2 weeks you feel you may need a bit of a touch up. We like to see you back but not before 2 weeks as muscle response may not be noted until then.
-
How long will my Botox treatment last? This can vary from person to person. Generally cosmetic treatments last 3-4 months. After care shortly after injection can affect treatments. Excessive heat, vigorous exercise and excessive sun exposure and smoking acan accelerate toxin degeneration. Good skin care routine, hydration, sun block and use of retinol can extend the treatments. Often people that continue regular treatment regimens may require less injections and longer periods between treatments.
-
What are commonly treated areas, and how much would I need? This of course varies from person to person, but generally the below listed areas are most common: Forehead lines 10-30 units both sides Frown lines. 12-25 Brow lift 3-5 each side Crows feet - 10-15 each side Bunny lines /lateral nose lines 4-6 each side Gummy smile 2-4 each side Vertical lip lines. 3-6 each side
-
What is the aftercare for Botox?Botox is extremely safe allowing patients to return to normal daily routine immediately after treatments. We do have the following suggestions to maximize treatment and avoid complications. 1. Stay up rite for four hours 2. Do not massage or scratch injection sites. 3. Avoid strenuous exercise for 72 hours 4. Avoid use of straws if treatment around the mouth.
-
Are there any potential side effects?Side effects are temporary and quite often minimal, but they could possibly include: Pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site. Headache. Droopy eyelid or cockeyed eyebrows. Crooked smile or drooling. Eye dryness or excessive tearing.
-
Do I need to schedule a follow up?When injecting Botox or Xeomin for the first time, we recommend a follow-up in 10-14 days. It takes 3-4 days to start noticing and 14 days for complete results. We want to ensure the dose is precisely correct for you and assess if a touch-up is needed. Individual muscles strength is different for each person, and we want you to love your results. Toxins are designed to last 10 - 12 weeks. Some people metabolize medication faster, and others metabolize them slower. For best results, staying on top of your treatment plan will continue to deliver the best outcome. What to expect: bruising varies between clients. If minimum bruising occurs, it will resolve within 2-3 days, occasionally can last up to 7 days. It is NORMAL to feel "firmness or heaviness" in the injection area for the first few days after treatment. Over time, the site will soften, leaving you with a natural-looking result. Reminder Don'ts Do NOT manipulate or perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. Do NOT receive facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion after toxins for at least 10 days. Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after toxin treatment. If you have any questions, please call 918-407-4999.

What are dermal fillers?Injectable fillers are temporary as it is eventually absorbed by the body. It is injected into the skin at different depths to help fill in deep wrinkles, provide volume and augment facial features and restoring a smoother appearance. It is Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance so well tolerated by your body.
-
Do fillers hurt?We use a topical numbing agent that is specially formulated for us that is highly effective to minimize the pain. Typically, lip injections are fast and easy. Some patients feel minor discomfort and or a slight pinch, but pain is usually brief and manageable. Everyone's body is different, of course, and some people may experience more pain than others.
-
How quickly will I see results?Dermal fillers are noticeable instantly. The first day or so you may expereince swelling, but that will quickly decrease to your desired results, which may last 9 months to a year.
-
What areas are generally treated? There are multiple uses fo dermal fillers. Currently we are offering lip enhancement, Minimizing nasal labial folds and deep wrinkle lines, as seen below.
-
Are there any side effects? There may be minor bruising for 3-4 days after the procedure. Moderate swelling for 1-3 days that is best treated with cold compresses the first day. We recommend stopping any aspirin products for 3 days prior to filler. There can be some minor bleeding but this generally resolves right after the procedure.
-
What to expect immediately after?Bruising varies between patients. Usually minimum bruising occurs and resolves within 2-3 days. On occasion, bruising may be more significant and last up to 7-10 days. It is normal to feel "firmness" in the injection area (s) for the first few days after treatment. Over time, the area will soften, leaving you with a natural looking result.
-
Is there Post-Treatment care?Yes! Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area. Unless instructed by the provider. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours. Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling. If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour. Use Tylenol for discomfort. Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling
-
What if I don’t want to have the filler after it has been injected?Fillers are one of the few injectibles with an immediate antidote. The quickest way to reverse fillers is by injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which breaks down hyaluronic acid to “undo” your lip filler.
